Abstract

Manado yellow corn and hybrid corn are superior varieties that are still being produced in Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. This study aims to obtain a dose of urea fertilizer that can increase the amino acid and fatty acid content in Manado yellow corn and hybrid corn. This study used a completely randomized design and the research data were obtained through laboratory activities. This study consisted of the stages of administering a dose of urea fertilizer, analysis of amino acid content and analysis of fatty acid content of Manado yellow corn and hybrid corn. From the results of the study, it was found that the amino acid content with the best value after giving treatment with a dose of 300 kg/ha of fertilizer on Manado yellow corn and the highest fatty acid content in hybrid corn. The results of amino acid analysis of Manado yellow corn obtained the highest essential amino acid content, namely Leucine 1.49% and the highest non-essential amino acid content, namely glutamate 2.00 at the treatment dose of urea fertilizer of 300 kg/ha. The results of the fatty acid analysis of hybrid corn obtained the highest fatty acid content of 6.44% compared to Manado yellow corn which only obtained 1.78%.
